Mandala Day, Zazen, Potluck Lunch, and Dharma Study

At 9 a.m., we will have special Mandala Day chanting, as we do on the third Sunday of every month, followed by two periods of zazen and temple caretaking.

At 12:30 p.m. we’ll gather in the Forman House for a potluck lunch. If you bring a dish to share, please be sure it is vegetarian and label if it contains gluten or dairy.

At 1 p.m. Shinge Roshi will lead Dharma Study discussion in the Forman House and on Zoom. We are reading The Surangama Sutra, the new translation by Buddhist Text Translation Society, 2009 edition, with excerpts from the Commentary by Ven. Hsuan Hua. A few copies are available for in-person attendees for $30 in the Dharma hall, cash and checks only, please. Online attendees may purchase the hardcover book from the Buddhist Text Translation Society's website. A Kindle edition is available, as well as a free, downloadable PDF file of the entire text. All are welcome.
