Funeral Service for Ryujo Robert Missoff, Dokusan, Potluck Lunch, and Dharma Study

At 9 a.m., we will have a funeral service for Ryujo Robert Missoff, who passed away on July 8, followed by in-person dokusan and zazen, then temple caretaking. Please bring a KN-95 mask for in-person dokusan.

At 12:30 p.m. we’ll gather in the Forman House for a potluck lunch. If you bring a dish to share, please be sure it is vegetarian and label if it contains gluten or dairy.

At 1 p.m. Shinge Roshi will lead Dharma Study discussion in the Forman House and on Zoom. We are reading The Surangama Sutra, the new translation by Buddhist Text Translation Society, 2009 edition, with excerpts from the Commentary by Ven. Hsuan Hua. A few copies are available for in-person attendees for $30 in the Dharma hall, cash and checks only, please. Online attendees may purchase the hardcover book from the Buddhist Text Translation Society's website. A Kindle edition is available, as well as a free, downloadable PDF file of the entire text. All are welcome.
