Shinge Roshi says, "This fall, the Zen Center of Syracuse will have been in consistent existence for 52 years. While the Buddha-Dharma has no beginning, no end, beings are subject to birth and death. I will be 81 on October 2, and we have quite a cohort of elders. What will the future bring? What are the most important steps we can take to continue offering this profound practice? How can we ensure that newer sangha members receive the mentoring and training that is so important to the ongoing vitality of our beloved HoenJi? Please join us on Sept. 29 for morning service at 9, followed by zazen and then an open discussion, 'Creating a Vision for the Next 50 Years.’ Bring your ideas, your questions, your suggestions—and a vegetarian bag lunch."
