Interfaith Service for Japan
Please join us for an interfailth prayer service for the victims of the recent catastrophy in Japan. The service will take place in the Carriage House Zendo behind the Zen Center's main house at 266 W Seneca Turnpike between 6:30 and 7:30 on Monday, March 21st.
Shinge Roshi had this to say in her letter to the sangha and greater community:
This Monday evening, March 21, is when we have our Mandala Day ceremony at the Zen Center of Syracuse, and I thought it would be a good time to bring the community together for an Interfaith Service for Japan. Mandala Day is a time of heightened awareness of spiritual interrelationship, so our prayers and chanting will have a profound and powerful ripple effect.
The service will segue into our normal Mandala Day chanting service, so please be sure to bring white socks of tabi for this event.
The combined service will be followed by refreshments and convivial discussion in the Forman House.
If you are willing and able to help set up for this important event, please email Caroline Savage (caroline.e.savage@gmail.com) for details.
