In-person registration for O-Bon Weekend is closed.

Join us online for a livestream of this beautiful and moving event, which includes the ceremony honoring our ancestors, family members and other loved ones who have passed away, as well as the hungry ghosts within and around us.

Led by Shinge Roshi and Chigan Roshi, we will chant together and call the names of the deceased, and Shinge Roshi will offer a teisho. Afterward, we will float our lanterns out onto the dark waters of Beecher Lake. Read more »

We'll work side-by-side with Shinge Roshi, Chigan Roshi, residents and Sangha volunteers to prepare the monastery for O-Bon — hanging special banners, making lanterns, setting up altars, and more. A modified monastic schedule will include morning service, daily samu (work practice), and Mizu Segaki chanting each evening. O-Bon Weekend is free to Samu Week participants.

Join us for this beautiful and moving in-person ceremony where we honor our ancestors, family members and other loved ones who have passed away, as well as the hungry ghosts within and outside us.
