Shinge Roshi will be offering in-person dokusan after 10 a.m. morning service on June 11, June 25 and July 16.
She will be leading the DBZ Anniversary Sesshin on July 2 and 9, so will not be in Syracuse on those Sundays. As a precaution, please bring a mask for in-person dokusan.
Shinge Roshi will be offering in-person dokusan at Hoen-ji after morning service this Sunday, May 29, for Sangha members who are fully vaccinated with boosters, follow our current Covid protocols (see below), and have no symptoms of any kind of respiratory illness. On Sept. 8, at 9 a.m., morning service will be followed by in-person dokusan with Shinge Roshi and then temple caretaking. Please bring a KN-95 mask for dokusan.
Please be aware that East Seneca Turnpike connecting South Salina St. and East Brighton Ave. will be closed starting Friday evening through Monday morning, August 23-26, for construction on Route 81. On July 14, we invite the Sangha to come to the zendo for short morning service at 9 a.m., followed by in-person dokusan until 11. At 11:15 a.m., we will hold a 49-day memorial service for sangha member Saigyo Terrance Keenan, who passed away on May 25 after a long illness. A catered lunch will be served in the Forman House after the ceremony.
