Nanci Rose-Ritter, Buddhist practitioner and author, will be giving a talk titled "Meeting My Dzogchen Master", following Tibetan Sitting practice at the Zen Center of Syracuse. Please join us in welcoming her and invite your friends. Sitting is from 10am-11am; some refreshments will be served before her talk.

Nikyu has been in a sitting practice since 1971, is a co-founder of Zen Center of Syracuse and was authorized to teach by Shinge Roshi in 2012. He has been practicing clinical psychology since 1975 and brings a wealth of insight to all his talks.
The full Sunday service is from 9am to noon. Nikyu's Dharma Talk will begin 10:45.
Nikyu will give a Dharma Talk while Shinge Roshi is conducting a Jukai ceremony at Dai Bosatsu Zendo. Eight students will receive Buddhist precepts at this ceremony, including Yao Xu and Pat Mavady, both of whom sit with Hoen-ji sangha when they are not at Dai Bosatsu.
Kotaro Hiruta Sensei is the current master of Ichikukai Dojo in Japan, where several Dai Bosatsu sangha members have trained. He will be visiting Hoen-ji on this special trip to New York. His Dharma Talk will explore Misogi-no-kokyu-ho, a Shinto purification through breathing practice, and Zen meditation.Read more »
