2014 World Interfaith Harmony Assembly and SNAP Kick-off
InterFaith Works of CNY and Women Transcending Boundaries invite you to join us as we spread the message of harmony and tolerance, by showcasing and celebrating the many faith traditions in Central New York.
This year our theme, "The Golden Rule," exemplifies our common objective, for "Love of the Good and Love of the Neighbor." Fifteen groups will share this through song, poetry, storytelling, and dance.
This event also marks the launch of the SNAP Challenge. In 2013, New York State recipients of SNAP can expect to receive $29.40 per person per week. This represents a 10% cut over last year. Beginning after the World Interfaith Harmony Assembly, we invite faith leaders, congregations, community leaders, and elected officials to live on food that costs no more than $29.40 per week, and to donate the remainder of their typical weekly food budget to their faith community’s food pantry or InterFaith Works.
