Rita Hammond

Rita Hammond (1924-1999), a celebrated avant-garde photographer and nationally recognized artist, was a greatly admired presence in the Central New York art community known for her audacity, intelligence, and humor. She taught at Cazenovia College for many years.  Her work included ironic reflections on major figures from the history of art and photography, and provocative self-portraits.
